Free course for young adults aged 18–21 from the LCR who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET).

About this Event

Take part in this exciting free 4-week Content Creation course. Plus, a free £20 Amazon voucher for everyone who successfully completes the course.


This course is a great way to explore digital creativity, learn new skills, and spark your curiosity about careers and training in the creative industries. You’ll get hands-on experience in animation, graphic design, video editing, and portfolio building, all while discovering how these skills relate to real-world jobs.

Course Breakdown:


Week 1: Animation

Learn the basics of digital animation and bring your ideas to life on screen. Explore how animation is used in media, TV, and online content.


Week 2: Graphic Design

Create your own poster using Canva and learn how to follow a brief, think about layout, execute your design, and export it professionally.


This session features a guest talk from , Action Prop Buyer and Graphic Designer for shows like Doctor Who, who will share insights into the creative industry and how graphic design skills are used in professional projects.


Week 3: Video Editing

Learn how to make and edit your own Reels and TikToks. Understand the editing process and how these skills can be applied in digital media and social content creation.


Week 4: Portfolio Building

Showcase all the work you’ve created during the course. Build a portfolio that highlights your skills and creativity, helping you explore future training or career opportunities in the creative industries.

No prior experience is required for any activity, and all equipment will be provided by us. Our friendly tutors will be there to support you every step of the way.


Who can get involved?

This course is open to young adults aged 18–21 from the Liverpool City Region who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET).


When is this course?

This course is made up of four, weekly, 2-hour sessions.

Fridays, 27th February - 20th March, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.


Where will the workshop take place?

YMCA St Helens Youth Hub, St Helens, WA10 2TJ.


How much does it cost?

This project is generously funded by Youth Guarantee, with delivery support from VOLA, and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, therefore it is free to attend.


What equipment should I bring?

Digital Arts Box will bring all of the equipment needed to participate in this course.
